
The Seward County Lady Saints Basketball Team picked up their 30th win of the season Friday night with an 80-69 win over the Coffeyville Lady Red Ravevns in the second round of the Region VI Tournament. A slow start plagued Seward early but the Lady Saints finished the half strong and took the momentum into the second half. Rachel Barnes finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds and guards Kendra Spresser and Megan Lassley combined for 34 points, including 8 three pointers. Vaneza Junior posted her first career double double scoring 10 points and dishing out a career high 12 assists in the win.
The Lady Saints advance to take on Cowley for the second time this season in the tournament semifinals with the winner advancing to the championship game against either Labette or Hutchinson and the loser heading home for the year. The Lady Saints and Lady Tigers will lock up at 3:00 Sunday afternoon in Koch Arena in Wichita.
