It was a little different game than the first time the Seward County Saints and the Cowley Tigers met this season. In that game the Tigers jumped out to a 17 point lead early only to see it evaporate and see the Saints flip the script as the guys from Liberal came out on top by 16 at games end. Cowley again took an early lead that they held for over 30 minutes but the Saints as Seward fans have come accustom to lately made a late charge to take their own lead before holding on 79-75 thanks to a monster night inside for Marky Nolen.
The Saints freshman forward had 23 points and 9 rebounds while Latiq Agard had 20 and Donte McCarter 15. Seward moves on to the Region VI Tournament semifinals Sunday at 7:00 where they will take on the Butler Grizzlies for the second time in one week. The winner will then move on to the championship game Monday night against either Hutchinson or Coffeyville with the winner earning a bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.
