Sigala to be an Ichabod in 2010-2011

Read moreAfter a strong two year career for the Saints of Seward County, sophomore guard Robert Sigala has signed his National Letter of Intent to head to Washburn University where he will join an Ichabods team that went 16-14 last season under legendary Head Coach Bob Chipman.  As a sophomore this season, Sigala became a fixture in crunch time for the Saints.  The guard from Southwestern Heights averaged 6.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game this season while also chipping in with 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals per contest.  While Sigala wowed the crowd many times in his two seasons here in Liberal, his most memorable moment will undoubtedly be from the Saints early February matchup in the Greenhouse with Colby where he glided to the basket with time winding down to finish off a layup and get fouled to give the Saints a win at the horn after a furious late game comeback.  When asked what he would miss most about Seward County, Robert replied

Two Saints Forwards Named All-Region

Read moreSeward County forwards Latiq Agard and Marky Nolen were chosen to the NJCAA All-Region VI Team Wednesday afternoon after strong campaigns in the paint for the Saints during the 2009-2010 seasons.  Agard was chosen 1st Team All-Region after a season in which he led the Jayhawk West in scoring at 17 points per game.  The 6’4 sophomore was one of the most consistent players in the league in 2009-10, scoring 19 or more points in 8 of Seward’s final 10 games of the season.  Nolen was named Honorable Mention All-Region after a season in which he was arguably the most valuable 6th man in the league.
