On opening day of the 2013 Spring signing period, four Seward County Saints put the eyes of anxious coaches and fans on Liberal, Kansas as Edson Avila, Leslee Smith, Jabari Peters, and Kaheem Ransom signed their National Letters of Intent to attend Division I Universities.  Avila makes many Southwest Kansas folks happy as he has decided to attend the University of Oklahoma next season.  Another heavily followed school in the Sunflower State was the choice for Smith as he will take his talents to the University of Nebraska next season.  Peters and Ransom will team up for the next two years after the two signed to play in the Southland Conference at Sam Houston State next season.

Kaheem Ransom Caps Career With All-American Award

Read moreEarlier in the season he was named KJCCC Player of the Week, then NJCAA Player of the Week, before becoming a member of the illustrious 1,000 point club, and being named to the All-Jayhawk and All-Region teams, but Monday, Seward County sophomore Kaheem Ransom received the pinnacle award from the NJCAA as he was named an All-American.

Three of the sophomore members of the Seward County Saints squad that led them to their third straight Jayhawk West Championship in 2013 were honored by the NJCAA on Monday as it was announced by league officials that Kaheem Ransom, Edson Avila, and Jabari Peters were all named to the All-Region VI team.
