As the 2009-2010 NJCAA Academic All-American Awards come out, the Seward County Saints and Lady Saints find their names spread all throughout as 10 SCCC/ATS student-athletes have been given the prestigious honor from the NJCAA as awards were released this week.

Roufosse Named NJCAA All-American

After a season in which she dominated nearly every hitter that she faced, Seward County Community College Lady Saints ace Erin Roufosse was named an All-American. During her sophomore year at Seward County Roufosse put up one of the finest statistical seasons of any player in school history, recording a microscopic ERA of 1.00 including 13 shutouts while posting a 25-7 record in the process.

Seward Finishes 9th at NJCAA National Tournament

For the second straight season the Seward County Lady Saints have come home from the NJCAA National Tournament in the top 10 in the country. After falling in their opener 4-0 to Seminole State who finished 4^th, the Lady Saints beat Pitt CC from North Carolina 5-2 in 8 innings before dropping their final game 8-0 to 7^th ranked Chattanooga State to end their season. Seward finishes in 9^th place in the country after a 7^th place finish in 2009.
