Lady Saints Finish 3rd in Nation, Earn Way Onto NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year Award List

Read more                After 6 of 7 Seward County teams either won the Jayhawk West Conference or advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament this season, it was quite evident Tuesday that practicing their skills on the field and the court weren’t the only things that the Saints and Lady Saints were going during the 2009-2010 school year.  It was announced Tuesday that a matching 6 of 7 teams had been named to the NJCAA’s Academic Teams of the Year list to recognize teams composite achievements in the classroom.

Lady Saints Tennis Finishes in Top 25 at National Tournament

Read moreThe Seward County Lady Saints Tennis team finished their 2010 NJCAA National Tournament trip to Tucson, Arizona 24th after recording 5 ½ points on the week.  Fanny Benincasa  and Kauana Goncalves got Seward off to a good start on day one with wins but that would be the only wins the Lady Saints would be able to get on day 1.  Benincasa and Goncalves both lost their next matches to eliminate them from the tournament but the Lady Saints would get wins from Antigone Lowery and Lindy Kowalchuk in the consolation bracket to end up with 5 ½ points.  Seward finished 4-10 in singles play in the tournament and failed to win a doubles match going 0-6.
