Stephanie Boaldin Makes OPSU Cheer Squad

After cheering for one season for Head Coach Scarlette Diseker, Seward County sophomore Stephanie Boaldin has been announced as one of the 2010-2011 cheerleaders for the OPSU Aggies.  Boaldin tried out and made the Aggie cheer squad in April and will begin working withthe OPSU cheerleaders when classes start in August.

JESSICA GOKEY TO JOIN CHEERLEADING TEAM AT FHSU

After two seasons as a cheerleder for the Seward County Saints, Jessica Gokey will take her skills to Fort Hays State University next season where she will join the Tigers cheer team there. Gokey and her Saints cheerleaders performed at every home Saints and Lady Saints basketball season the past two season and even traveled with the team to almost all conference road games.

SEWARD COUNTY CHEERLEADING PROGRAM
The Seward County Community College Cheerleaders are dedicated to cheerleading excellence. The squad consists of 20 cheerleaders. SCCC offers an excellent opportunity for young men and women to receive an education while cheering at the college level. Each member must be a full time student enrolled with 15 credit hours while completing 12 hours per/semester and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 each semester. In addition to the scholarship, the Cheerleaders budget will also pay for camp, uniforms, shoes and all travel expenses throughout the year.

 

 



 

Cheerleading Try-out Requirements
(Taught at 2010 Open Gyms- Wednesday's from 7-9 throughout the monrth of April)

Women

  • Individual Cheer with herkie or toe touch (Taught at Summer/Fall 2010 Open Gyms)
  • 3 Individual Jumps (Herkie, Toe Touch, Optional)
  • 3 Consecutive Jumps
  • Group Cheer with herkie or toe touch (Taught at Summer/Fall 2010 Open Gyms)
  • Tumbling (Optional but highly recommended)
  • Stunting (Group & Partner)
  • Personal Interview

Men
